swimming with sharks...

errr..i mean..swimming with baby alligator lizards...

for the past two days... I've had to fish this guy outta the pool..

not sure if its the same fella..maybe i should start 'tagging' them lol
isn't he just SOOO Cute???
awwwwww

i love them when they're so wee.. we have found them even smaller before..and they are just so adorable!

Usually..when Betsy-Boo's not doing this....

or this...

she can be found outside 'hunting' and likes to bring me lizards..

this one she brought back to play with...

then she usually takes them off somewhere and 'feasts'. We've found so many headless bodies about the yard... its disgusting!

all of this usually happens when Tippy is inside...

New Reality Show .....

Oh my god..
I just received this email-funny...and i SOOOOO think I should forward this on to Fox, Bravo, ABC, NBC, CBS... for a new show idea!!!!!
I laughed my BUTT off reading this...and TOTALLY think if this show were on TV...it would be THE biggest, baddest, most watched Reality Show EVER!!! lol

THE NEXT SURVIVOR SERIES

Six married men will be dropped on an island with one car and
3 kids each for six weeks.

Each kid will play
Two sports
And either take music
Or dance classes.
There is no fast food.

Each man must
Take care of his 3 kids;
Keep his assigned house clean ,
Correct all homework,
And complete science projects ,
Cook, do laundry,
And pay a list of 'pretend' bills
With not enough money.

In addition, each man
Will have to budget in money
For groceries each week.

Each man
Must remember the birthdays
Of all their friends and relatives ,
And send cards out
On time--no Emailing.

Each man must also
Take each child to a doctor's appointment ,
A dentist appointment
And a haircut appointment .

He must make
One unscheduled and inconvenient
Visit per child
To the Urgent Care.

He must also
Make cookies or cupcakes
For a social function.

Each man will be responsible for
Decorating his own assigned house,
Planting flowers outside
And keeping it presentable
At all times.

The men will only
Have access to television
When the kids are asleep
And all chores are done.

The men must
Shave their legs ,
Wear makeup daily,
Adorn himself with jewelry,
Wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes ,
Keep fingernails polished
And eyebrows groomed .

During one of the six weeks,
The men will have to endure severe abdominal cramps, back aches,
And have extreme, unexplained mood swings but never once complain or
Slow down from other duties.

They must attend
Weekly school meetings,
Church, and find time
At least once to spend the afternoon
At the park or a similar setting.

They will need to
Read a book to the kids
Each night and in the morning,
Feed them, dress them,
Brush their teeth and
Comb their hair by 7:00 am.

A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will be required to know all of the following information:

Each child's birthday,
Height, weight,
Shoe size, clothes size
And doctor's name.
Also the child's weight at birth,
Length, time of birth,
And length of labor,
Each child's favorite color,
Middle name,
Favorite snack,
Favorite song,
Favorite drink,
Favorite toy,
Biggest fear and
What they want to be when they grow up.

The kids vote them off the island
Based on performance.
The last man wins only if...
He still has enough energy
To be intimate with his spouse
At a moment's notice.

If the last man does win,
He can play the game over and over
And over again for the next 18-25 years
Eventually earning the right
To be called Mother!

Whoever thought of this could definately secure a future in REALITY programming!!! lol i LOVE IT!!!
Kudos to the talented woman who wrote this!!! :) :) :)

A Weekend Up in the Pines...

Not too many pics to actually prove that I was up in the Pines.. but a couple to tease you with.
We headed out Friday ..and decided to go 'cool off' up in the Mountains ..so we drove up to Idyllwild.
But whewwweeee!! It was just as hot up there!! But lovely none the less...and we hit a trail to go see the sites. This pic below is on a trail up in Idyllwild..and it over looks down onto the lovely city of Hemet.
Sorry these pics are out of order..but the two pics shown below are when we came down off the mountain and decided to stay a nite at Lake Skinner in Temecula. It was 99 (pointing away from the wind)..and its hard to make out..but it reads 106 pointing into the wind... in the SHADE!! whew!!
A couple of hours BEFORE i decided to take a pic of the temp...the reading was at 113.. pointing into the wind..in the SHADE~
lordy~
Usually i enjoy the heat.. don't mind it.. just give me shade.. something cold to sip..and i should be all set.
But call it hormones.. or just plain crankiness.. but i just wanted to be COOL... or jump in my POOL... like.. NOW! lol
We cranked on the AC in the RV..and chilled out for a couple of hours and waited for the sun to go down.
"Lord , please send cooler temps today...please? I promise not to get cranky..and I promise I'll be not to kick the dog"

Tim.. preparing the grill in Idyllwild County Park. The menu for the nite was grilled corn on the cob and tilapia..

awwww...look what I found at Lake Skinner!!!! Everytime.. (well..just about everytime..) we stay at our favorite spot at Lake Skinner (Site #301).. and look what was waiting for me???? Our initials!!! Tim carved these in one of the tree's there awhile ago...and look at how nicely it's 'aging' ...awwwwwwww... he's so cute like that! :)
this next shot was taken earlllllly monday morning..when i got a wild hair up my butt and decided I'd get up at the buttcrack of dawn to see what I could see..

a morning flower greets me...
and this set of nuts...hehehe.. greeted us while up in Idyllwild..on that trail.. we stopped to have a snack under a tree..and this was hanging above our heads.

back in Lake Skinner.. a cloud that seriously looked like an angel..flying.. blowing her trumpet.. so i quick jumped up and grabbed the camera.. but now looking at it..it totally doesn't look that way at all! lol (maybe it was the wine talking)
I hope you all have a great week and enjoy your last week of August... as for myself..Im looking forward to Friday ... :)
My friend, Christy (Ccswhimsies) is coming to California on a family vacation..and will be dropping by to give me a hug and hopefully stay for a lil bit before running off to the airport in San Diego to pick up family. Im so excited! :)

Sunrise Sammy

Good Morning My Beautiful Flower!

Through the View Finder Pics from this morning..

Last nite Tippy decided he wanted to crawl out our bedroom window..and sit up on the patio beams. He LOVES it out there... and he CAN'T get down or escape! So he lays out there..and has a 'cats-eye' view of the hummingbirds coming to the feeder below him..and the goings-on.

The spot I drove to wasn't the greatest to catch any great magnificent sunrise shots..as there were telephone poles..and wires and construction messin' up the scenery. So I will have to rethink my next early morning adventure.. plan ahead and scout out a great viewing site. If anyone can recommend a good Sunrise viewing around Murrieta, CA.. please let me know!
But I had fun wandering about.. feeling like I was on some great adventure..searching for things to photograph in the great morning light. I saw horses..and cattle (again..sorry I don't know the names of cattle.. but my friend Connie for ALtered Route knows..and I sure hope she pops in here to tell me what I've photographed (pic of cattle on my flickr acct) hehehee)..revisited the old school... saw houses so close together its a wonder how anyone can fart anymore..
I hope you'll take a peek at my Flickr pics.. and post a comment if you like :)
Ok.. naptime.. all that running around pooped me out!

Mojito Time

ahhhhhhh....all is right with the world once again now that Tim is back from a weeks stay in NY...

I sure do miss him when he's gone.. cuz when he's gone..it means I have to be a 'big girl'..and do all the errand running..and venture out into the big world.

I would really much rather just stay in my jammies all day..and avoid freeways...grocery stores and gas stations!

I like it when Tim is home because I feel safe and spoiled! lol He barbeques and feeds me the yummiest foods...and I make the drinks! This weekend's drink of choice was the Mojito! We planted Mint in our garden a couple of months ago..and are sure making use of it!

Fresh Mint, Club Soda, Light Rum, Sugar, Lime Juice, Ice

Tim made up some Sausage and Scallop shishkabobs.... they were sooooo good! He added onions and peppers..and grilled 'em to perfection.

(before grilling)

Sunday we ventured out in the jeep again.. this time heading North up to Hemet area.

Diamond Valley Lake charges admission to get in ($7) ..and because we didn't have a boat, and also because they don't allow human contact with the water (no swimming allowed) we snapped a pic.. and turned around. The view from up there is great..and there were some great clouds forming off to the east!

why is it that we are always running into these sorts of signs????

The Hemet Hills and their Lovely CLouds:

Tucked down in the valley below the Diamond Valley Lake is the Aquatic center..

I think the area could stand to use about 10 more of these centers..as Hemet sure felt like Hell's Oven yesterday!

If you're traveling on Rt. 79..you will come across a sod farm.. (I think it's called West Coast Turf)..and they have the best signs out near the road..

Huge wooden signs painted soooo life like..you'd swear these are giants sitting along side the road..relaxing! lol I Love it!!!

Not too far from the Sod farm is the Winchester Cheese Company. We have yet to visit there.. but I hear the gouda is yummy!!!

The hills along Rt. 79:

ahh..who says Brown isn't beautiful????? :)

the end.
